Pope John Paul II's Gold Colnago
Built for Pope John Paul II in 1979, this gold Colnago Mexico Oro saw very little use. The Pope blessed this bike and rode it for a short while but returned it to Ernesto a year later, requesting a "sports type" bike in it's sted. That bike is likely the bike he rode during his remaining years as Pope.
- used but well maintained condition - size 56" - lugged steel frame (gold-plated) full campagnolo super record group, Nisi Solidal rims laced with Aeralpina spokes - blessed by the Pope
(This bike is currently not in the possesion of the YSW. It is housed at the Colnago museum in Cambiago. The sum paid would be to arrange for a emisary of the YSW to go to the Colnago museum and (presumably) procure it on the rights of bikes belonging to religous organizations/leaders. They just straight-up gave it to the Pope, we're betting we can work something out.)
